Annette O'Toole spent her childhood in the Houston studio which was operated by her mother. As a toddler she made it onto television for the first time around two. With her mom, who had ten years of singing, dancing and dancing in her repertoire, travelled to Los Angeles for the entire year when she was 13 to test out whether she could be able to earn a living in showbiz. She landed her first job as a professional dancer in just two months: Danny Kaye's The Danny Kaye Show. She says "I am able to use my experience to sing and dance in a variety of ways." The discipline you get from it is a huge benefit for an actor." O'Toole's first role as a character in My Three Sons was followed by appearances in Gunsmoke and The Mod Squad. She was also on Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family. The most important thing that O'Toole loves, in spite of her successes in film and on television was theatre. After a six-year run on Smallville, O'Toole decided to focus on theater and acting, which she'd been doing for the past decade. She made the trip to New York and her first audition was the reason she was selected for The Sea Gull. She's been in numerous off-Broadway plays, such as Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska, and Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
